RIVER EAST RECAP: The Real Estate Edition

BARRY FARM (RE)MIXED gives us an update on the Sheridan Station project. Sheridan Station is currently in the sub-bidding phase, bids are due to the General Contractor, Fred Dipietro of William C. Smith Construction on 12/28/09 at 2pm.

LIFE IN THE VILLAGE recaps the community meeting to discuss Ray's the Steaks East River. Despite overwelming support to bring the popular sit down restaurant to Ward 7, there was some minor opposition  to the restaurant coming into the neighborhood. After a letter writing campaign expressing support for Ray's the Steaks East River it seems the message was received loud and clear -the majority of River East residents support the restaurant.  Ms. V was happy to report cooler heads prevailed at the meeting and Ray's the Steaks East River did indeed get their letter of support from the ANC.

AND NOW, ANACOSTIA keeps us up to date on Part 2 of his Flip't series featured on Prince of Petworth. The series highlights DG-Rad's renovation and sale of a house he is redoing on U Street SE in Historic Anacostia. DG-Rad also explains the in and outs on how to get a construction loan in a major recession.

CONGRESS HEIGHTS ON THE RISE is focused (again) on the ANC 8C office on MLK. Exposed wiring, holes in the wall and obsolete office equipment do not an office make. The Advoc8te again questions the praticality in spending ANC funds on an unused office.
