The high-stepping Ballou High School marching band has become the first D.C. high school band to perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
The Majestic Marching Knights of Ballou paid tribute to the King of Pop in their performance Thursday, WRC-TV (Channel 4) reported. The band played Michael Jackson's "Working Day and Night" in the nationally televised parade. And some band members copied some of Jackson's moves.
The band has drawn national attention to the Southeast Washington school over the years and is the subject of a recent documentary. Parade officials cited the Ballou band's superior musical and marching abilities in making the pick last year.
