"Meanwhile, DHS management offices continued to make progress on the construction of a new headquarters for the US Coast Guard (USCG). Demolition of buildings in the USCG headquarters site will begin on August 28, DHS announced.

DHS also began to examine the needs of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in a planned relocation of its offices to the consolidated DHS headquarters to be built at the St. Elizabeth's campus in Washington, DC.

Officials held an initial meeting on the design of the FEMA headquarters, the ARRA reports said. GSA awarded a contract to Washington Gas to provide electrical power to 25 percent of the campus."
