DC OFFICE ON AGING: Grant Funds Available to Operate Wellness Programs for Senior Citizens

(Washington, DC) The Office on Aging has extended the deadline for non-profit and for profit entities to apply for grant funds to operate Senior Wellness Centers for residents age 60 and older in the District.

DC Senior Wellness Centers promote healthy lifestyles, sound nutrition, exercise, and general wellness among the aging population in the District. This grant seeks organizations to operate Senior Wellness Centers in Wards 4, 5, 7 & 8. For fiscal year 2010 there is a total of $1,270,401 contingently available for the Senior Wellness Center Grants. Funds have been provided to the Office on Aging from federal and District appropriated funds.

The
Senior Wellness Center NOFA *is available for review on the DCOA website and the RFA will also be available. The grant application deadline is Tuesday, September 1 at 5 pm. A pre-application conference will be be held on August 13, 10 am until Noon at the Office on Aging, Conference Room 950 South, 441 Fourth, Street, NW., Washington, DC.
