A r.e.e.l. Success Story!

Another 100+ turnout!!! The majority of attendees were from the River East communities but there were also other DC residents in attendance as well as members from the business community including Affinity Labs who is hoping to open a new location in Anacostia.

Councilman Kwame Brown was in attendance and gave a very riveting speech on River East progress and talent.

There were many community leaders in attendance such as ANC Commissioners Darrell Gatson and Greg Justice III and a representative from the US Census who explained to the audience the importance of the census.

There were several generous sponsors for last night's event: Honfleur Gallery, Savoy Court Condominiums and The Martin Luther King Jr. Deli (which also operates the So Good food store in Congress Heights).

Charles Wilson of Historic Anacostia gave another rousing and inspiring speech on the purpose of r.e.e.l. and its hopes and dreams for our community and how r.e.e.l. with the support and input of the community will take on the task of doing substantive, proactive work to increase the visibility and progress of our River East Communities.
