🌟 The Pope Francis Scholarship: Full-Tuition Master of Social Work Scholarship [SP]

The Pope Francis Scholarship is a partnership between Catholic Charities Archdiocese of Washington and The Catholic University of America (CUA), offering a full-tuition scholarship to individuals interested in earning a Master of Social Work and serving residents in Ward 7 and 8.

Through a two-year Master of Social Work program, recipients are trained in advanced social work competencies at CUA while gaining hands on case management and clinical experience during their internships at Catholic Charities.

If you’re interested in pursuing a Master of Social Work starting Fall 2025 (late August), consider attending the upcoming virtual informational session on Thursday, March 27th from 6:30pm-7:30pm. Prospective applicants should RSVP here.

Scholarship Eligibility:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited University

  • Must be accepted into Catholic University’s Master of Social Work Program

  • Must be willing to attend classes full-time and in person

  • Be willing to work for Catholic Charities – three years post degree (Salaried positions are available)


SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS

Step 1: The very first step is to apply and get accepted into Catholic University’s National Catholic School of Social Services’  (CUA) Master of Social Work Program (application link here).

Step 2: Once you receive your acceptance letter from CUA, please email COMPASS at compass@cc-dc.org and we will send the Pre-Application Form to determine your eligibility for the scholarship.

Step 3: Based on your responses to the Pre-Application form, if you are eligible for the scholarship we will invite you to apply.
