I'm back; I think

Teddy making sure I follow doctor’s orders!

It's been ten days since my hip arthroscopy, and besides sleeping more than I'm used to, the rehabilitation process has been pretty good. I'm still on crutches, but I am "hobbling" along. I appreciate the understanding that everyone has shown while I've been on medical leave. I know my posting has been inconsistent, but I wanted to turn over a new leaf, follow my physician's instructions, and rest, which is very hard for me.

I had an "ah-ha" moment in my last therapy session (virtual, of course) and realized I was not setting a good example. In the past, it was a point of great pride for me to say, "I post seven days a week, 365 days a year." But it came at a cost. And I realize now that I was setting an unhealthy and, frankly, harmful example. So self-care is something I will prioritize from now on.

This new outlook doesn't mean I will let my standards slip. On the contrary, this website (and my consulting business) will continue to deliver quality content. It's my baby, so it will always be important to me. But it shouldn't be the only important thing to me.

So to that end, I am back posting every day, but if I need a break, I will take it. 😂
