The Rainbow Fish Musical is coming to the Anacostia Playhouse

Come see as we take the Anacostia Playhouse under the sea where we'll meet all kinds of denizens of the deep! Under the steady hand of director Sisi Reid, music director Daniel Floresand choreographer La'Nora Smith, our cast of characters is busy learning to sing, dance and act all at the same time... and they are nailing it.

Many of our cast members are Playhouse veterans who have appeared in all of our shows since we kicked off the youth program with The Trial of the Big Bad Wolf. But you will also see a lot of new faces on stage as we welcome first-timers to our Playhouse family.

The cast includes Kameron Allen, Kevin Allen, Kyron Allen, Ta'Leah Allen, Tyler Branch,

Aydan Covin, Kaylan Covin, Aidan Halidou, Leaira Moore, James Muie, Sage O'Brien,

Riley Raspberry, Darius Redo, Sonia Parham, Duran Tazewell, Xuan Tilghman-Phillips,

Jackson Waddy, Raegan Waddy, Tanji White, Destiny Whitfield, Zoë Witherspoon

And we couldn't do any of it without talented design and production team:
Lighting Design, John Alexander; Costume Design, Nora Dahlberg; Set Design, Megan Holden; Scenic Painting and Properties, Beth Baldwin; Assistant Director, Agyeiwaa Asante; Stage Manager, Rachel Walsh; Photographer and Videographer, Jabari Jefferson.
There are only five performances, so make plans now to bring the whole family and come out and support these hard working young actors.

April 25-28, 2019. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and matinees at 2pm Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under and  are available by clicking here or visiting www.anacostiaplayhouse.org.

You Can Help Support Youth Programming at the Playhouse

It's important to us that we give our young actors the some professional experience as our adult actors get... that means all the bells and whistles of design, sets, lights, costumes and props. Of course, all of this comes with a price tag but it's worth it when we see them shine on stage.

We would love it if you are able to make a dedicated gift to support this production. With only 5 performances and intentionally low ticket prices, ticket sales do not come close to covering production costs. We've set up dedicated giving site where you can make a donation that will go straight to help cover the expenses of The Rainbow Fish Musical. We are grateful for your gifts and know there are 21 cast members and families who send their thanks.
