Short-Term Foster a Dog, Cat, or Small Animal!
Check out this fantastic opportunity with the Humane Rescue Alliance! My beloved Teddy came to me as a foster in 2008, and it was the best thing that ever happened to me. In September, I co-fostered a sweet black labrador mix with a neighbor, Angus. Although I am still grieving Teddy who passed last year, I had enough room in my home and in my heart to shelter an animal until he found his forever home - which Angus did! He lives with a lovely couple in Navy Yard, and they are sending me photos and updates. The experience was so great that I am looking forward to doing another short-term foster over the next few weeks. The more foster homes available, the more support can be provided to more adoptable pets in need. I hope you can experience the job of fostering (or adopting!) a dog, cat, or small animal. HRA takes in an average of 30 animals per day. Our team works hard to provide for all of the animals in our care, but our shelter space and resources are limited. Thanks to our foster families, we are able to create a virtual shelter in the community for our most vulnerable animals. On any given day our foster caregivers double the number of animals we can rescue and they give an animal the best possible place to wait to find a loving home.”
