The Books from Birth program is open to all children under the age of five who live in Washington, D.C. All enrolled children receive a free book in the mail each month from birth until they turn five.

As of June 10, 2024, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is offering a new book option for families.  The new option includes 100% Bilingual English/Spanish books from when the child enters the program until they graduate at age five. In addition, those families selecting this option can also select which language they would prefer communication to arrive in.  

If you are currently participating in Books from Birth and would like to make the change to the new Bilingual English/Spanish book collection, do so before June 28, 2024 to receive your first bilingual book in the month of August 2024.
