🏆 [PR] Martha’s Table Celebrates 40 Years of Commitment to Washington, D.C., and its Residents

WASHINGTON, DC (February 4, 2020) -Martha’s Table, the D.C.-based nonprofit, is celebrating 40 years of supporting strong children, strong families, and strong communities in 2020. Regarded as one of the District’s leading community-based organizations, Martha’s Table is driven by the belief that every Washingtonian should have the opportunity to thrive.

Born from humble beginnings in 1980 on 14th Street NW, Martha’s Table originally served as a safe space for children to access after-school meals. Today, the organization operates nationally accredited education programs beginning at birth, fights for food justice by increasing access to healthy meals and fresh produce, and promotes family success through its no-cost community boutique and engagement programs. Altogether, its programs support over 25,000 residents each year.

“We believe that every DC child deserves a fair shot. For 40 years, Martha’s Table has been a pillar in our community, working in partnership with thousands of children and families. Congratulations to Martha’s Table, their leadership, and their volunteers on this amazing milestone.” --Mayor Muriel Bowser

Martha’s Table is extending an invitation to all metro-area residents to join in celebrating 40 Years Strong. Upcoming opportunities include volunteer engagement, family enrichment events, social justice-focused conversations, community dinners, and more!

Martha’s Table will continue to invest in the future of Washington by putting D.C. residents first—now and for decades to come. Visit the 40 Years Strong webpage to learn more about the organization’s year-long celebration and ways to partner.
