Part-time & Paid Research Internship
The National Breast Cancer Coalition’s mission is to end breast cancer, and we have a strategic plan to accomplish this mission. NBCC seeks a driven, results-oriented intern to assist with research projects. This is a paid, part-time (20 hours per week) internship that will begin in mid-June and end in mid-August.
Responsibilities and learning objectives (what you will learn/do)
The research internship is an opportunity to build and strengthen professional skills particularly in research, analysis, writing, organization and interpersonal communications.
Conduct background research (including literature reviews) and analysis to develop factsheets, issue briefs and other resources on a variety of issue areas including policy issues that relate to breast cancer, the infrastructure that supports funding for biomedical research, legal issues and other projects as they arise.
Other responsibilities may include supporting grassroots advocacy efforts, attending outside conferences in the D.C. area, briefings on Capitol Hill and providing support for NBCC outreach.
Candidates should also have:
Excellent written and communication skills
Research and analysis experience
Strong interest in Research & Advocacy
The ideal candidate is a current undergraduate or graduate student. To qualify, you must be pursuing a degree, certificate or diploma (full time or part time), and be in good academic standing at your school.
