MPD 7D | Suspect Sought in a Homicide: 4600 b/o South Capitol Street, SW

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are seeking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a suspect in reference to a homicide that occurred on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, in the 4600 Block of South Capitol Street, Southwest.
At approximately 6:40 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the listed location to investigate sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, members located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 24-year-old Andre Butler, of Oxon Hill, MD.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for each homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
