[PR] Metrorail Station Closures & Service Status for March 23rd thru May 1st

Monday-Friday 5:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.

This week, Monday, March 30 – Friday, April 3, 2020, Metro will use the same service plan as last week, which provides connectivity throughout the region for essential trips, but with sharply reduced train and bus frequencies. Metrorail ridership is now less than a tenth of its normal level, and bus ridership has been reduced by up to 75 percent.

Metro continues to urge the public to travel if absolutely necessary during the COVID-19 public health emergency to ensure that limited transit capacity is available for those who need it most and to allow for safe social distancing.

Metrorail

  • Trains will operate on all lines, serving all open stations.

  • Take note of 19 stations that are closed (no alternate transportation provided).

Stations serviced by multiple lines will see trains arrive every 7-10 minutes. For example, Rosslyn, served by the Blue, Orange and Silver lines, will have train service to DC about every 7 minutes.

Metrobus

  • Metrobus is operating on a modified Sunday Schedule.

  • Routes that operate on a Sunday schedule

  • In addition, these routes will operate as follows:

    • 7M: Route will operate from the Mark Center every 30 minutes.

    • 18P: Regular weekday schedule

    • 89, 89M: Regular weekday schedule

    • B24: Weekday

    • C14: Saturday

    • F14: Saturday Supplemental

    • R12: Saturday

All Metrobus customers will enter and exit the bus using the REAR doors only, except customers who require use of a wheelchair ramp, which remains available at the front door. Metro is also temporarily suspending fare collection on Metrobus, because all farebox and SmarTrip equipment is located at the front door. Metro reserves the ability to discontinue this policy at any time.
