Mayor Bowser Extends DPR Spray Park Hours Through September 30
Monday, August 29, 2022
(Washington, DC) – Today, Mayor Muriel Bowser and the DC Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) announced that all stand-alone spray parks throughout the District will remain open seven days a week through September 30. Traditionally, Labor Day is the last day that spray parks are open in the District.
“We know that while Labor Day typically feels like the end of summer, we still have some hot days ahead during the month of September,” said Mayor Bowser. “Spray parks give our communities and families an essential place to cool down, and we’re grateful to the fantastic teams at the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Department of General Services for working hard to keep our spray parks open.”
Starting Tuesday, September 6, stand-alone spray parks will be open from 11 am to 5 pm, every day through September 30. Langdon Splash Park, which operates as part of the Langdon Park Pool, will close on Labor Day as scheduled.
