Starting July 5th, the home will be open for timed-entry tours Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 9 am - 5 pm. Advance tickets are strongly encouraged and can be made on Recreation.gov

Frederick Douglass NHS is excited to welcome you once again inside the majestic home, where you can experience the living spaces of Anna Murray Douglass, Frederick Douglass, and Helen Pitts Douglass, as well as their amazing circle of friends and allies.

Our reservation system is up and running. Remember to get tickets in advance!

So many folks love the Douglass family story, we cannot guarantee availability same day. Secure your spot ahead of time on www.recreation.gov and build up your cardio to climb Mr. Douglass’s famed Cedar Hill. This short-term inconvenience of the closure has created the foundation for the long-term strength and prosperity of the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site. Come experience this amazing treasure in the Anacostia neighborhood of Washington, DC!
