Statement from the family of Joseph Kitchen on August 16, 2020

Statement from Washington School for Girls:

It is with profound sadness that we share with you the news that our colleague, Joseph Kitchen has been found deceased. As an integral part of the WSG community for so many years, our hearts are heavy; we can’t even fully process this loss at the moment.

Please pray for Joseph’s family, our school community and all who loved him. Counseling services will be available to support our students and staff through this difficult time. He will truly be missed.

Statement from Young Democrats of Maryland:

It is with a heavy heart that the Young Democrats of Maryland share the news that our fearless leader, President Joseph Kitchen, has passed away. Leading YDM for the past 8 years, Joseph has been a passionate advocate for young people in politics, a mentor, and a dear friend to all of us. Joseph’s impact on YDM is truly immeasurable and he has left a legacy that will live on forever. Our love and support is with his family. 

Joseph will be truly missed.

The Young Democrats of Maryland expresses its deepest condolences and sympathies to his family. The family has asked for privacy while they process this tremendous loss.
