It's easy to participate. Create a post on Twitter, start with "I am a #DC resident living in #Ward 8 and" then include a challenge you experience living in Ward 8. It could be anything from the challenge of grocery shopping to having to leave the ward for a sit-down meal to illegal dumping, lack of jobs, etc. Please include a black and white photo that addresses your point and don't forget to use #TheDiscards. Hopefully we can draw enough attention to our issues to spurn some action on creating some solutions. Ward 8 is a great place filled with amazing people, charm and history. But we are struggling to get even a fraction of the type of amenities and opportunities that are taken for granted in west of the river neighborhoods. We demand more for the community we love.
