Roost DC (www.roost-dc.com) provides property management services to condo associations and cooperatives in the District of Columbia. We focus on the city proper and work with buildings as small as ten units and as large as 100. Every building in our portfolio is part of the fabric of this city. Goal: To provide high quality financial assistance and admin support to the Roost finance team. Ensure all financial communications out to clients (residents/owners and Association Boards of Directors) is done in a professional and timely manner using Appfolio + hard copy mailing. Represent Roost DC as a "best in class" management company in Washington, DC. The Roost finance administrative assistant will be an energetic self-starter. We are looking for someone who will provide consistent proactive support, update resale package software consistently, interface with clients and vendors professionally. This person will provide support to a team of hands on professionals that collaboratively manage a portfolio of over 86 buildings in the District (and growing). The pace is sometimes (or often) breakneck, yet requires someone with the ability to perform well under pressure and manage time very well.
This position is rooted in finance and communication. Specific tasks and responsibilities related to the Finance Assistant and Admin position may include but are not limited to the following:
-Maintain Proper Management of Association Finances by recording association income in accounting software (Appfolio), collect condo fees, including depositing of checks/money orders
-Assists Assistant Director to produce monthly accounting packages for each association including a cover page summarizing income & expenses and several reports: Balance Sheet, Monthly Profit & Loss with Budget, Delinquency Report, Bank Reconciliation, Bank statements, and Paid invoices
-Transitions all vendors + service contracts and files documents + updates Appfolio with contract/service information.
-Review previous management ledgers and credit/charge accordingly.
-Attend Association Annual Meetings and conference calls
-Collect homeowner insurance policies.
-Customer + Client Relations/Communication and Administration
-Field client questions, e.g ledger requests
-Assist Client Experience team with ledger charges (e.g. move in fees, key/fob charges)
-Pull monthly reports as needed, including:
-Delinquency reports reviewing with team and clients.
-Ledger requests to collections teams/law firms
-Field all Ledger requests for legal/collections efforts
-Serve as the first point of contact for finance team via finance@ email address, phone calls, etc. Triage communications to the appropriate team member.
-Uses online software tool, HomeWise, to put together information needed for resale packages upon request
-Audits documents in the software and update as they expire, including financials, insurance, meeting minutes, etc
-Willingness to learn about property management and will serve as part of the on-call rotation to triage building emergencies
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
2-3 years of work experience
Finance degree preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

-Ability to be on-call and respond to emergencies as they arise
-Ability to quickly learn property management software and tools
-Familiarity with Apple + PC products
