Join Charnice Milton Community Bookstore for launch of our first publication! 

The Great Kite, written by CMCB volunteer Virginia Spatz, is both story and thought/art prompts, promoting imagination and community building. Works great for intergenerational discussion and engaging for readers of all ages. All purchases support literacy and book-related activities in and near DC's Ward 8, which was without a bookstore for decades. 

Our launch celebration will include reading, kite creation opportunities, and refreshments. 

In addition, celebrate "Presidents Day...When a Bully Is President" with art activities inspired by "When a Bully Is President: Truth and Creativity for Oppressive Times" from Reflection Press

Event is free of charge. All (of all ages) welcome. Copies of The Great Kite and When a Bully Is President will also be on hand for donors.
