DOEE seeks Energy Program Specialist - $55k to $71k

This position is located in the Energy Administration, Data and Benchmarking Division, Building Performance and Enforcement Branch (BPEB), but working within the Office of Enforcement and Environmental Justice (OEEJ). The incumbent of this position is primarily responsible for supporting programmatic work for OEEJ by issuing and tracking enforcement actions for the BPEB-related programs. This position supports legal enforcement actions, including preparation of documents and maintenance of a case management database. The position, therefore, requires attention to detail, accuracy, and documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide technical and administrative support and facilitates workflow to enhance agency enforcement and accomplish the work of OEEJ.  Perform a variety of tasks relating to review and preparation of enforcement documents.  Provide technical assistance and support to inspectors in preparing cases.  Assist in preparing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Assurance Project Plans, and similar quality control measures and performs quality assurance review of enforcement documents and data bases to ensure enforcement quality.

Conduct research and analysis and develop data, statistics, and special reports.  Carry out internet and record searches, automated information retrieval, and telephone inquiries. Provide technical support for case tracking and administrative reports on case-loads and case status.  Assists supervisor and other staff by performing a variety of tasks related to database and file management.

Follow protocols on enforcement document preparation, issuance, tracking, and response and the collection and management of payments. Assist in preparing and implementing Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Assurance Project Plans, and similar quality control measures and performs quality assurance reviews of enforcement documents and databases to ensure enforcement quality. Provide information and advice to supervisor and agency staff on activities and information that may affect office functions, including workflow, priorities, and process improvements.

Assist the BPEB and OEEJ supervisor and other staff in establishing, updating, and maintaining paper and electronic files.Communicate orally and in writing with the public or other agencies to accomplish the work of BPEB and OEEJ.
