Derrick Ward, A Class Act
I've done stories with Derrick Ward for so long that I can't remember the first one - it's been fifteen years at least. Derrick covered numerous issues in and about east of the river. The respectful coverage he gave Charnice Milton was indicative of the type of journalist he was. I last saw Derrick this summer when he interviewed me for a story. As always, Derrick brought a special light, charm, and expertise that made him an excellent journalist and a storyteller of the first order.
Derrick Ward's legacy is timeless. His professionalism, integrity, and dedication to his craft set a standard that will endure. He was, and will always be, a class act.
