Collective Action for Safe Spaces (CASS) is a grassroots organization that works to empower people in the DC metropolitan area to build a community free from public sexual harassment and assault.

CASS seeks to hire a full-time Deputy Director to partner with and support the Executive Director (ED) to chart CASS’s future growth and strategic response to an ever-increasing demand for the organization’s services. The Deputy Director will have both internal and external facing responsibilities, ranging from client and project management to administration and human capital. Specifically, the Deputy Director will manage the organization’s grant-writing, operations, and administration while helping to sustain and grow programs. The Deputy Director will report to the CASS Board of Directors (BOD).  

CASS is a small staff fueled by a full time Executive Director, a part time program manager, a rotating number of interns/fellows, a working Board of Directors and a dedicated crew of volunteers. We’re searching for a full-time Deputy Director who will be able to dive in head first, take initiative and be a collaborative thought partner to our Executive Director. We are hoping for candidates that are self starters with experience owning their work and with demonstrated success in driving their own work forward.
