Calvary Women’s Services seeks an experienced Communications Manager who is passionate about Calvary’s mission and will provide critical leadership to advance the organization’s strategic goals and impact.           

The Communications Manager develops and executes Calvary’s external communications strategy, with the goal of raising awareness of Calvary’s mission and programs with target audiences. As well, the position collaborates with fundraising colleagues to support donor relations and fundraising efforts. The Communications Manager is an integral part of the Development Team, reports to the Chief Development Officer, and works closely with all teams at the organization to coordinate media and communications efforts.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Work with program staff, clients, volunteers and donors to share compelling stories about Calvary’s work

• Manage Calvary’s website, blog, and social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube), including the creation of original, impactful content

• Lead earned media efforts, including cultivating relationships with key media and composing press releases and op-eds

• Coordinate Calvary’s annual report, program brochure, information packets, and other collateral materials

• Create and distribute email blasts, e-newsletters, print newsletters and other materials

• Recruit and coordinate graphic designers, photographers, videographers or other professionals who help Calvary tell our story

• Support special events through crafting event-specific PR plans and ensuring the visibility of sponsors

• Collaborate with the Development Manager to lead online fundraising campaigns

• Write compelling and creative text in support of other communications and fundraising work, as needed
