Child sex trafficking in the DC Metropolitan Area continues to be a critical issue for black and brown boys and girls. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has identified D.C. as one of fourteen cities in the U.S. with the highest incidence of commercial sexual exploitation of children. Many of these individuals, particularly boys, have an unmet need for culturally competent specialized trauma recovery services.
Courtney's House, Inc., founded in 2008, is the only survivor run and African Amercian run direct service provider in the DC Metropolitan Area. Their mission - to support survivors of child sex trafficking in healing from their trauma and exiting their trafficking siutation.
