Please join us for a film screening of Printmaking Legacy Project® BLACK PRINTMAKERS of WASHINGTON, D.C. Percy B. Martin & Michael B. Printmakers Percy B. Martin and Michael B. Platt, participated in pivotal movements, having significant impact on American art and arts education. This documentary provides personal accounts of their history, training, involvement with the development of print departments, studios, and their art.
The film is followed by a discussion, moderated by Samir Meghelli, Senior Curator, Anacostia Community Museum, with the film’s Producer and Director, Susan J. Goldman, Percy Martin, and Carol A. Beane, the wife of the late great Michael B. Platt.
