ABOUT THE PROGRAM

In keeping with Mayor Bowser’s commitment to support the creative economy and create a nurturing environment for DC’s creative entrepreneurs, start-ups, and small businesses, the District’s Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment (OCTFME) launches the 202Creates Residency Program. OCTFME’s residency program is a part of 202Creates, one of the forty-three initiatives identified in Mayor Bowser’s Economic Development Strategy.

The 202Creates Residency Program is available by application to District of Columbia residents working in the creative industries. The 202Creates Residency Program will provide artists, creative entrepreneurs, creative teams and/or creative businesses access to OCTFME between 1 to 4 months to work on projects, expand their business, meet with government partners, and further develop their work.

The 202Creates Residency Program joins Mayor Muriel Bowser’s portfolio of activities supporting the creative economy. The Residency Program directly leverages City resources to connect innovative and creative residents with the space, services, and training they need to build their creative projects and creative businesses.
