Department Summary

As the national association of immigration lawyers, AILA is on the front lines of immigration law and policy. Our members practice in every area of immigration law, for example, representing children and separated parents, helping universities and businesses access the talent they need, or helping long-time residents achieve their dream of becoming a U.S. Citizen. We need a governance presence that will help educate, inform, and inspire our members.

The Governance & Component Relations Department provides AILA’s Board of Governors and component groups (Chapters, Sections and Interest Groups) with managerial, hands-on support and consultative services related to governance, leadership development, compliance and operations. 

Position Summary

The Chapter and Communities Support Specialist is primarily responsible for assisting volunteer leaders in growing and nurturing their chapters and communities. The Specialist will report to the Senior Director of Governance and Leadership Strategy.
