Temporary Bridge Lane Closures, June 21-24


(Washington, DC) - The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will temporarily close single lanes on multiple bridges in the District beginning  Tuesday, June 21, weather permitting, for routine safety inspections. 

The closures are as follows:

  • On Tuesday June 21, from 10 am to 3 pmDDOT will close a single lane on westbound Q Street NW over Rock Creek and Rock Creek Parkway.
  • On Wednesday June 22, between 10 am to 3 pm, there will be a closure of the right lane on the northbound side of the Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over Firth Sterling Avenue SE.
  • On Thursday June 23, between 10 am to 3 pm, DDOT will switch and close the right lane on the southbound side of the Anacostia Freeway (I-295) over Firth Sterling Avenue SE.
  • On Friday June 24, from 10 am to 3 pm, DDOT will close the right lane first on westbound Firth Sterling Avenue SE under Anacostia Freeway (I-295); followed by a closure of the right lane on the eastbound side.

Traffic controls will be in place to warn drivers of the closures. Motorists should anticipate moderate-to-heavy delays due to the lane closures.  Drivers are advised to stay alert and be observant of inspection personnel.
