District of Columbia Zoning Regulations Review (ZRR) - Notice of Dates for January 2013 Office of Planning Community Meetings


Season’s greetings from the DC Office of Planning. 

Not long ago, you received information regarding a series of community meetings being held to discuss the ongoing Zoning Regulations Review process.  We would like to thank all of you who were able to attend one, or more, of the first three meetings, held in December.  Below, please find a list of the dates, times, and locations for the remaining five meetings, being held in January, 2013:

Saturday, January 5, 2013, 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 noon (Ward 1)
      Harriet Tubman Elementary School, 3101 13 th Street NW, 1 block east of the Columbia Heights metro station on the green and yellow lines.

Tuesday, January 8, 2013, 6:30 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. (Ward 3)
-        Wilson High School, 3950 Chesapeake Street NW, 1 block east of the Tenleytown metro station on the red line

Wednesday, January 9, 2013, 6:30 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. (Ward 5)
-        Foster Auditorium, Ely Building, Gallaudet University, 800 Florida Avenue NE, 5 blocks east of the NY Ave / Gallaudet metro station on the red line

Saturday, January 12, 2013, 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 noon (Ward 7)
-        Room 2309/10, DOES Building, 4058 Minnesota Ave. NE, adjacent to the Minnesota metro station on the green line

Wednesday, January 16, 2013, 6:30 P.M. – 8:30 P.M. (Ward 4)
      Takoma Education Campus, 7010 Piney Branch Road NW, about 3 blocks west of the Takoma metro station on the red line.



The community meetings are open to everyone.  We will present the same information in each of the meetings, so you can attend the one that is most convenient for you.  We will describe the process to date, present the draft proposals, and solicit and listen to community feedback.  We remain open to making additional changes to the draft proposals, based on your comments, before they are taken to the Zoning Commission for consideration at public hearings.   For most of us,  zoning is not a normal topic of discussion, but it is an important one, so please plan to attend. 

Copies of the draft proposed text are available on our website-  www.DCZoningUpdate.org, with links from our blogsite -  www.ZoningDC.org, and a paper copy is also available for viewing at the Office of Planning (address below) and at the following libraries:
