SANQUAN CARTER, 21, used a handgun in a shooting in Congress Heights that killed Jordan Howe and wounded two other men. Convicted of one count of first-degree murder and 14 related offenses.
Sentence: 54 years 
ORLANDO CARTER, 22, fired an AK-470-style assault rifle in the Congress Heights shooting, participated in the later slaying of Tavon Nelson and was the principal planner and driver in the final drive-by attack that killed Brishell Jones, Davaughn Boyd and William Jones III and wounded six others. Found guilty of 50 charges, including five counts of first-degree murder.
Sentence: Life without the possibility of release 
JEFFREY BEST, 23, wielded a shotgun in the Congress Heights shooting, then fired a 9mm pistol in the Tavon Nelson killing and the drive-by attack. Convicted of five counts of first-degree murder and 42 other crimes.
Sentence: Life without the possibility of release 
ROBERT BOST, 23, who was not implicated in the Congress Heights shooting, used a .45-caliber handgun in the Tavon Nelson homicide and the drive-by shooting. Found guilty of 34 offenses, including four counts of first-degree murder.
Sentence: Life without the possibility of release 
LAMAR WILLIAMS, 24, was not present for any of the killings, but supplied the pistol and shotgun used in Congress Heights, hid the AK-47 for Orlando Carter after the attack and gave the rifle back to Carter before the drive-by shooting. Convicted of three counts of second-degree murder and 25 related crimes.
Sentence: 30 years 
NATHANIEL SIMMS, 28, drove the getaway car in Congress Heights, took part in the slaying of Tavon Nelson and fired the AK-47 in the drive-by attack. In a deal with prosecutors, he pleaded guilty to five counts of second-degree murder, avoiding more serious charges in return for testifying against the other men. He is awaiting sentencing.
