11th Street, SE to be Closed Between M Street, SE and O Street, SE Saturday, September 22 From 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

DDOT to Complete Demolition of the Existing Wall Along 11th Street, SE
   
(Washington, D.C.)  The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close 11 th Street, SE between M Street, SE and O Street, SE, Saturday, September 22, 2012 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.; weather permitting.  The road closure will allow DDOT to demolish the existing wall along 11 th Street, SE.

During the road closure, signed detours will be posted.

Detour
During the closure of 11 th Street, SE, local traffic seeking access to Anacostia from M Street, SE and the Navy Yard Area will be detoured onto the ramp at the intersection of M Street and 11 th Street, SE, to southbound I-295, then to Howard Road, SE to access Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue SE.
Signage will be in place to provide motorists advanced notice of the scheduled detour.
In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions, this work w11THill be rescheduled and an updated advisory will be distributed.


This closure is in addition to the previously publicized off-peak closures of the 11 th Street bridges, related ramps, local streets, Southeast/Southwest Freeway and I-295/DC 295.
