Advoc8te About Town: National Trust for Historic Preservation 'Saving Places' event
On Wednesday, June 6th I was a guest speaker at the National Trust for Historic Preservation's 25th Anniversary reception and Saving Places event. I spent my three minutes chatting about LUMEN8Anacostia and the impact it had on Anacostia. After the speeches several people came up to me and expressed a sincere interest in paying Anacostia and Ward 8 a visit. That is always a win in my book and one of the great things about coming out of the community to bring people into the community. I made some wonderful new friends and put some faces to some familiar names.

It's hard to talk, drink wine, and take pictures so I don't have many but it really was a cool event and the Fathom Creative space was so very boss.
Popularise was one of the speakers at the 'Saving Places' event and they had this super cool (and huge) billboard a few doors down from Fathom. I have to make a point to check this out, very intriguing concept.
