Overnight Closures Planned for the Inbound 11th Street Bridge Exit Ramp to M Street, SE
Closures Will Apply to Eastbound M Street, SE Between 11th and 12th Streets
Crews Will Install Bridge Girders over M Street, SE

The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the exit ramp from the inbound 11th Street bridge to M Street, SE from 9 pm to 5 am November 7 through November 10. During this time eastbound M Street, SE between 11th and 12th Streets will also be closed and westbound M Street, SE between 11th and 12th Streets will have limited access. The lane closures will allow crews to install bridge girders over M Street, SE for a new freeway bridge.
Motorists traveling westbound on M Street, SE will have limited access between 11th and 12th Streets during this time period.
During the lane closures, signed detours will be posted.

Motorists traveling eastbound on M Street will be detoured to 11th Street, SE and then onto O Street, SE to access M Street, SE and Water Street, SE.

Motorists traveling on the existing inbound 11th Street Bridge wanting to access M Street, SE will be detoured to the 8th Street, SE exit, onto I Street, SE and then onto 8th Street, SE.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be in place to provide motorists advanced notice of the scheduled detour.
In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions, this work will be rescheduled and an updated advisory will be distributed.
This closure is in addition
to the previously publicized off-peak closures of the 11th Street bridges, related ramps, local streets, and I-295/DC 295.
