It's the first Monday of the month which means another extremely long line in front of the District Department of Environment in Anacostia for Ward  6,7, and 8 residents in need of energy assistance. Today's line goes from the 2100 block of MLK and far down W Street SE. I can't help but think there has to be a better way than this to service people.

Reminds me of photographs I have seen of the bread lines during the depression. :(
