It's always nice to be appreciated and even better for a Ward 8 shop to get the positive press it so richly deserves. Looking forward to more businesses opening their doors East of the River and looking forward to more media outlets paying attention to what happens in River East. Until then will keep on highlighting the  great things happening in our communities.

D.C.’s cupcake craze crosses Anacostia River at Olivia’s Cupcakes

The bakery recently hosted a  customer appreciation day , and blog  Congress Heights on the Rise  has tracked Olivia’s progress since it opened. For interested cupcake hounds, the place is in fact cheaper than its competitors: Cupcake varieties range from red velvet to strawberry shortcake and are priced at $2 per cake. ( Georgetown Cupcake  charges $2,75;  Cakelove’s  will run you $3.25.)
