Three killed in car crash at 13th St & Mississippi Ave SE

UPDATE, 4:14 p.m.: Police say a third person has died from injuries she suffered in the crash. Police said Saturday afternoon that the female driver of the 2007 Mitsubishi Galant has died. Two male passengers were also killed. A female passenger is in serious condition. Their names were not released.
ORIGINAL POST: Two people were killed in an early-morning crash in Southeast D.C., police said.
The crash happened when a car swerved off the road and into a tree near
13th Street and Mississippi Avenue SE at about 2 a.m., said Officer Anthony Clay, a District police spokesman.
Two people died from injuries suffered in the accident, Clay said. Two other people were in the vehicle and were injured. Clay said he didn't know their conditions. Further information about the victims was not available.
The crash is still under investigation. No other vehicles were involved.
