Doorway Arts Ensemble is seeking an experienced professional director for a staged reading event as part of "The Playground Series". Position requires availability for 5 developmental rehearsals with dramaturg, 2 member cast ( 1 male 30's and 1 african american female) and playwright ( via email and phone conversations) He will be present for last rehearsal and performance. Casting and rehearsals to begin as soon as possible.
Compensation: Competitive stipend available.

Synopsis: Armed with a spirit of adventure and a desire to do good in the world, Matthew arrives in Rwanda to build a computer center and aid the locals. In a neighborhood massage parlor, Mattie gives Matthew more than he bargains for. As the two try to reconcile their relationship and find a way forward, they are both attracted and repulsed; seduced and disturbed by the bond between them. They are ultimately transformed in a way completely unforeseen by either party. MUZUNGU explores the unseen motives in doing good, and the unexpected consequences of lending a helping hand.
