Reminder From the Board of Elections and Ethics:
Monday is the Last Day to Change Your Party Registration

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Board of Elections and Ethics of the District of Columbia today issued a reminder that only registered Democrats, Republicans and D.C. Statehood Green party members can vote in the primary election on September 14, 2010.

Voters who would like to change their party have until next Monday, August 16 to visit http://www.dcboee.org/  and download, print and sign a new voter registration application. The Board will be open for voters who want to change their party in person from 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Although new voters can register as late as Election Day, the Board of Elections and Ethics is not permitted by law to change a current voter’s party affiliation within 30 days of the election.

Voters who have any questions can call 202-727-2525.

The District of Columbia Board of Elections & Ethics is the independent agency of the District government responsible for the administration of elections, ballot access and voter registration.
