Monday, January 18th River East Emerging Leaders Cleanup Event
Come join the River East Emerging Leaders (r.e.e.l) for the 4th Annual Pope Branch Park Clean-Up in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of National Service. This service event will bring various community organizations and government officials together to clean up one of our own parks to make it safe for recreation and play. This will be a great event for the entire family.
Date: Monday, January 18, 2009
Time: 9 am – 1 pm
Location: Pope Branch Park (Fairlawn Ave and M Street SE)
WHY: To participate in a National Day of Service in OUR community
Other participating organizations and groups include: Pope Branch Park Restoration Alliance, The Sierra Club, Ward 8 Environmental Council, Earth Conservation Corps, Groundwork Anacostia River, Wholeness for Humanity and the DC Department of the Environment.
