Residents, property owners and those that love to watch a car crash are invited to attend tomorrow night's ANC 8C meeting at the UPO Petey Greene Center which is located at 2907 Martin Luther King Jr Ave SE (corner of MLK and Mellon).  There will be parking but no food or drinks so The Advoc8te recommends bringing some bottled water - or perhaps considering what is sure to be an excercise in tomfoolery, a stiff drink may be more appropriate.

No word yet if Commissioner Mary Cuthbert is going to address publicly her threat to have Commissioner William Ellis removed as treasurer because he has committed the unpardonable offense of - following the law (and the auditor's recommendations) by NOT signing unapproved rent checks but The Advoc8te has a feeling that a fight is a brewin'. Good news for Commissioner Ellis - the community has been very vocal in expressing their support of Commissioner Ellis continuing as Treasurer and his efforts to make ANC 8C compliant with ANC law and fiscally responsible. The Advoc8te has no idea what position  Commissioner Dion Jordan, Commissioner Cardell Shelton or the 'missing in action' Commissioner Calvin Lockridge have taken on this issue but The Advoc8te hopes they are all on board for a new change in leadership of ANC 8C - otherwise this may very well be their last terms as ANC 8C Commissioners.  The community has made it very clear they are fed up with the irresponsibility and the foolishness.
