Thurs, November 5, 2009: Information is Key to Empowering Citizens Town Hall Meeting

The Metropolitan Police Department's (MPD) Seventh District along with the Superior Court of the District of Columbia are hosting a "Information is Key to Empowering Citizens" Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, November 5, 2009 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The meeting location is Matthews Memorial Baptist Church, 2616 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE.

This town hall is being co-sponsored by the Anacostia Coordinating Council and the MPD 7D Citizens Advisory Council. The purpose of the town hall meeting is to present information on police reports and activities, crime prevention information and crime statistics. DC Superior Court will provide information on their operations, programs and services. Also, during this meeting time will be devoted to citizens concerns for the court and law enforcement officials.

We sincerely hope that you are able to attend this town hall meeting to learn how the police, judges and government officials are working together to make progress and improvements in your neighborhood. By joining us in this discussion, your knowledge will be increased on community organizations working to bring opportunities to the residents of Ward Eight.

If you have any questions about the town hall meeting or would like to host a display table, please contact Lendia Johnson, MPD 7D at (202) 698-1454 or email: lendia.johnson@ dc.gov or Ed Rhodes, DC Superior Court at (202) 879-1937 or email: edward.rhodes@ dcsc.gov.

Thank you in advance for your support.
