WHO IS THIS WOMAN AND HOW CAN WE GET HER TO SPEAK AT OUR NEXT ANC 8C MEETING?
Below is a recording taken in 2007 of ANC 2C, a long suffering ANC that had been divided and held hostage by ANC Commissioner Leroy Thorpe (who at the time of this video had been voted out of his seat but still refused to let go). The residents of this ANC got together to put a stop to the foolishness that was grinding their ANC to a halt and preventing them from moving forward. We are all riled up now it is time to do something about it!
FYI - Jack Evans at the time was the City Councilmember who was Chair of the Committee on Aging and Community Affairs which includes oversight of the Advisory Neighborhood Commissions. That honor has now fallen to Councilwoman Yvette Alexander as Chairperson of the Committee on Aging and Community Affairs.
