Councilmember Yvette M. Alexander, Chairperson of the Committee on Aging and Community Affairs, announces a public oversight roundtable on ANC 1A; ANC 1B; ANC 1C; ANC 1D, and ANC 8A; ANC 8B; ANC 8C; ANC 8D; and ANC 8E.

The roundtable will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, beginning at 6pm in Hearing Room 123 of the John A. Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW. The purpose of this public roundtable is to review the operation and activities of the Districts 37 Advisory Neighborhood Commissions (ANCs). ANCs are independent bodies comprising residents elected from District neighborhoods that advise the District goverment on matters of public policy affecting their neighborhoods.

At the hearing, testimony will be limited to the scheduled ANC Commissions, specifically the ANC Chair and Treasurer, or their designated Commissioner. However, the public is invited to provide written statements that will be made part of the official record.
