The Advocate along with several community members sat out in the freezing cold along with Commissioner Jordan of 8C02 (who also was under the impression there was a meeting tonight) in front of the closed UPO Center - no other ANC 8C commissioners in sight. Calls to Commissioner Ellis were unreturned.

The Advocate along with other 8C residents are really getting PISSED OFF with this foolishness of cancelled meetings , non productive meetings and the total lack of regard for the community and their time. No idea why there was no meeting tonight and why there was no notification that the meeting was cancelled (despite assurances in January's meeting that tonight's meeting would start at 6:30pm). The Advocate is left to wonder if this has anything to do with the inquiries into the ANC 8C finances or the attempt to elect a new Chair?

To date ANC 8C has failed to elect a Chair and a Vice Chair, has failed to participate in the ANC security fund and has failed to submit the necessary documents to the DC Auditor that were due on Jan 26th in addition to the quarterly financial reports.

Is there really any wonder why we are having so many issues in our community and failing our citizens? Coordinating a simple community meeting has become such a challenge. It's unclear when these meetings stopped being about the community but it needs to get back on track and immediately.

Luckily Commissioner Jordan was willing to hold a one on one meeting with members of his single member district to find out about issues affecting their lives and their blocks and find ways to resolve them.
