BRIEF RECAP OF TONIGHTS ANC 8C MEETING
Many thanks to the community for coming out to tonight's ANC 8C meeting. It was very inspiring to see so many faces - some of them new or returning after a hiatus at tonight's meeting. I am hopeful that this becomes a regular practice at our ANC 8C meetings as community involvement as well as community communication is key for any aspirations for success.
The Advocate will be posting shortly a recording of tonight's ANC 8C meeting in lieu of my informal meeting notes. There was no official agenda because there was no executive meeting were an agenda was decided on and voted and approved by the newly elected/relected commissioners.

THERE WAS SOME CONFUSION OVER WHETHER OR NOTE AN EARLIER VOTE WAS COMPLETED WHEN THERE WAS A QUORUM OF 3 COMMISSIONERS (Jordan, Shelton and Ellis). A 2ND VOTE WAS DONE WITH 4 COMMISSIONERS (Jordan, Shelton, Ellis and Cuthbert) PRESENT TO DETERMINE THE OFFICER POSITIONS FOR THE YEAR AND THE NOMINATIONS AND VOTE RESULTS (of the 2nd vote) ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Nominations for Chair
Dion Jordan (nominated by Cardell Shelton and 2nd by Dion Jordan) = 2 Votes
Mary Cuthbert (nominated by William Ellis and 2nd by Mary Cuthbert) = 2 Votes
*As a result of this tie there will be a special election to determine the Chair. The date and time will be published once it has been determined.
Nominations for Vice Chair
Cardell Shelton (nominated by Dion Jordan and 2nd by Cardell Shelton) = 2 Votes
William Ellis (nominated by Mary Cuthbert and 2nd by William Ellis) - 2 Votes
